How we handle compliant import into Russia/CIS — short and clear
Many of our clients, on the first call or meeting, ask exactly how a shipment gets delivered and want the details of the process - and we fully understand that a client's peace of mind and trust is our responsibility when we carry out a delivery.
Let's walk through the main stages that make up MATE's work on importing goods from China:
Gathering information and preparing a commercial offer
So that we can give final delivery costs without resorting to multiple recalculations once work on the goods is already underway, the first stage is our manager collecting information from the client and preparing a preliminary calculation. Most often, working through the preliminary calculation takes no more than 2-3 business days, given full information about the product.
Signing the contract and paying the advance
Quite often, for new clients, we become their contracting party for import work from China. That's exactly what a long-term contract is for: once it's signed, we handle new orders under it without needing to re-sign a supply agreement each time.
Standard work consists of an advance payment - most often the cost of the goods plus commission - and a final payment. Work on the order starts as soon as the advance payment is confirmed as received.
Handling the order on the China side
Depending on the context, on the Chinese side our buyers handle purchasing or manufacturing the goods, track factory and supplier contract fulfillment, and bring the work through to the point where the goods are ready to be prepared for export.
Even before the cargo is ready, our Chinese customs broker starts preparing the export documentation package, and as soon as the cargo is inspected, packed and labeled, we launch the export and delivery process.
Calculating the final payment and delivering the goods to Russia/CIS
Once the cargo is ready for dispatch, we calculate the final payment, which covers all the delivery and import customs-clearance costs.
Once the final payment is received, the cargo is shipped to Russia/CIS.
Customs clearance of the cargo in Russia/CIS
When the cargo arrives at the temporary storage warehouse, we process the release of the Customs Declaration (most often within 1 business day). Once the declaration is released, the cargo is either handed over immediately or delivered to the client's address together with the full set of documents confirming official import into Russia/CIS - plus we pass on the "Chestny Znak" labeling information where it applies.
After-sales support
The supply contract provides for accepting claims on the cargo if any violations are found, so our managers stay in touch with the client after delivery!
As the description of our process shows, cargo import runs through an entirely legal and clean scheme, with no potential risks or negative consequences for our client.
